Hacking forum hacked, user database leaked online • Graham Cluley

The notorious hacking and data leak forum, RaidForums, which was seized and shut down by the authorities back in April 2022, has been hacked again. This time, the user database of RaidForums was leaked online by a new hacking forum called ExposeForums. The leaked information includes details of 478,870 RaidForums members, including their usernames, email addresses, hashed passwords, registration dates, and other information related to the forum software. Many members of RaidForums had jumped ship to BreachForums when the former was shut down by the authorities, but BreachForums was also forced offline by the US Department of Justice in March 2022. Consequently, many members of BreachForums joined ExposeForums, which could be the reason behind the latest hack.

The leaked information could potentially provide law enforcement, security researchers, and cybercriminals with a large amount of sensitive information. Although there is a possibility that this information has been in the hands of law enforcement investigators since RaidForums’ website was seized in April 2022, it could still be of interest to others. The leaked information could be used for various cybercrimes, such as identity theft, phishing attacks, and password reuse attacks.

Being a member of a hacking forum like RaidForums, BreachForums, and ExposeForums can be nerve-wracking. Members never know when their preferred cybercrime hangout could be seized by the authorities, and what information could be uncovered about them. It is crucial to stay vigilant and protect personal information online to avoid becoming a victim of cybercriminals.

In conclusion, the latest hack of RaidForums shows that cybercriminals will always find a new home to trade their stolen data, and law enforcement agencies must remain vigilant to counter these activities. The leaked user database of RaidForums could have severe consequences for the affected members, and they should take necessary precautions to protect their personal information. It is also essential for individuals to stay informed about cybersecurity risks and follow best practices to safeguard their online privacy and security.
