Women in cybersecurity are making great strides in the industry. Despite working in a male-dominated field, many of the female volunteers in our survey reported equal pay and opportunities for growth and promotion as their male counterparts. While opinions on the increase in the number of women in cybersecurity were divided, the group was unanimous on the importance of having women in leadership roles and the need for positive female role models. Furthermore, the volunteers shared some great advice for women interested in the field, including the need to be tenacious and curious, to find one’s niche and to keep learning and developing.
